London Heathrow Airport – The busiest airport in all of Europe

One of the best airports in all of UK, the Heathrow Airport in London could give most star hotels a run for their money. Fully equipped with exclusive lounges, showers and rooms, medical facilities, payphones, charging points, free internet access, cash machines, family rooms, game rooms, television, and concierge services – you name it, and they’ve got it. The lounges at the airport are all well-equipped, and provide complimentary food and drinks when you book yourself into the lounge. They have a wide range of reputed coffee shops and restaurants with food that appeal even to the best of connoisseurs. Once you check in, the airport has a number of duty free shops in which one can get some last minute souvenirs, or just do random shopping. Some brands include Harrods, Gucci, Swarovski, Tiffanys, Marks & Spencer and many other international brands. They even have chapels and prayer rooms available for the devout folks who are in transit. They also have designated smoking areas at some parts of the airport. Getting to the airport is quite easy, as it is located only around 15 miles west of Central London. The fastest way to get to the airport is by taking the Heathrow Express, but the London Underground is a more economical option, and the overall journey time is still less than an hour from Central London to Heathrow Airport via the Underground. There are also designated taxi cab services which can get you to the airport in a fixed price and they are slightly more expensive than taking the train, but if you want flexibility in terms of time, then cab would be a better option for you.

Bane for the British, Boon for the Arabs: Cardiff weather.

The old adage of one man’s medicine being another’s poison has come true in Cardiff.

The fickle summer weather in Wales with overcast days, cool sea breezes and showers that has been the bane for long complaining British tourists is now turning to be a boon for sun-scorched fugitives from Abu Dhabi’s relentless dry heat.

The Arabs like rain. They love the tranquility in Wales. They like to go to the green parts of Wales, the caves and the rivers.

Despite little official promotion and no direct flights from the Middle East the market for Welsh breaks is showing an upward trend to the extent that some Arabs have even bought Welsh holiday homes.

Cardiff Airport is now trying to persuade an Arab airline to fly direct to South Wales.

Wales is not as overheated and metropolitan as London and has beautiful hills and coast attracting from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for their holidays

Another point of attraction was Cardiff’s abundance of Middle Eastern restaurants.

On an average 4,000 passengers a year fly between Cardiff and the Middle East via Amsterdam, including inbound leisure travellers, students and oil-industry workers, and people feel that though Wales may not grow as a volume market it would surely grow as a quality market for the wealthy Arab tourists.
